 open program:
An open books shortcut is on your desktop. Double-click to open it.
Now you see a row of clocks. Click on HOUR 1.
 
menu page:
clock menu
  Click on any clock to see a drop-down lesson menu.
  Each clock hour is one session. Each session is 1-2 hours.
  If class meets twice a week, the program will take 12 weeks.


begin lesson:
  icon sentences
Click on the triangle button. The program speaks the first word.
A word is below the box. Type it in the text box. Click space bar to move forward. Don’t forget the period. Click the space bar after the period.
Click space bar after the period. The program speaks the sentence, and the cursor goes to the next sentence.
After the space bar on the last sentence, the cursor goes to the next page.
Click on book stack to choose new lesson.
 
tool bar:
Book stack
opens menu. 		Aa button capitalizes all text prompts. Shop lamp toggles text on and off. Arrows move page back and forward.
 
page layout:

Sentence speech--Icon row
Click button to hear recorded sentence sound. Mouse-over an any icon to see a grammar tag. Click any icon to hear the computer speak that word.
Input row
Click on triangle for dictation. Type. Use space bar to move to next word. If correct, program moves to next word.
Text row is below input boxes. Circle button toggles text off and on.
lesson page
 
listening mode:
Look at the top of the screen. Do you see a lamp? It is ON when you open the lesson.  Click the lamp OFF to hide the words. Listen to the sentence.
Click the rectangle button, next to the icon row. Listen to the sentence.
Speak the sentence OUT LOUD. (In the listening mode, you don’t read. You don’t type. You just listen and speak.)
Click on the next rectangle. Do not type. Just listen and speak. Is this too difficult?
Click on the icons one by one and speak each word. Now try the whole sentence again. Repeat until you speak it perfectly.

dictation mode:
Turn the spelling light OFF (on the task bar) to hide the text.
Click on the triangle button. It starts the dictation. Don’t type until you click the triangle button. The speech won’t work without this button.
Try to type the words without looking. Is this too difficult?
Try this: Mouse over the icon. A small tag pops up and shows the word. The tag goes away after a second. Move your cursor away from the icon, and then back on the icon. You will see it again. Now try again to type the word.
